Manca poco, anzi pochissimo, anzi ancora meno! Tra le novità di questo autunno 2015 è in arrivo Netflix, un nuovo contenitore di film e serie televisive che entrerà nelle nostre case a partire dai primi di ottobre.
Ma chi è Netflix?
Lo sbarco degli americani in Italia non è cosa nuova ma siamo sicuri che anche questa volta saranno parecchi i cambiamenti apportati, infatti la televisione via web americana è destinata a cambiare per sempre il volto della televisione nostrana e, in competizione serrata con le offerte on demand del Bel Paese, rivoluzionerà il modo di concepire questo tipo di intrattenimento.
Una delle più grandi piattaforme on demand esistenti, è nata nel 1997 come società di noleggio di film e videogiochi e da allora di strada ne ha fatta, soprattutto quando, nel 2008, ha iniziato a sfruttare le potenzialità del web. Da allora in poi Netflix si è guadagnata l’appoggio di 30 milioni di americani e questo gli è bastato per decidere di aprirsi all’estero, offrendo un catalogo illimitato di film e serie tv fruibili su ogni dispositivo esistente e in qualsiasi momento si voglia.
Il successo della piattaforma è stato così di impatto che Netflix ha deciso di mettersi alla prova con la sfida di produrre proprie serie televisive come “Orange is the New Black” e “House of Cards” il cui successo è stato travolgente. Il passaggio dalla visione lineare a quella non lineare rivoluzionerà il modo di concepire l’intrattenimento televisivo cosiddetto “binge viewing” e probabilmente metterà in discussione il modo tradizionale di fare televisione.
Forse è ancora presto per le previsioni, ma siamo ansiosi di vedere cosa accadrà e fiduciosi che l’on demand si trasformerà da bene di lusso a pane quotidiano…
