Un messaggio che evapora dopo essere stato ricevuto? E che c’è di nuovo, direte voi, all’ispettore Gadget succedeva già negli anni ’90..

Scherzi a parte, se il Ventesimo secolo aveva il problema di come comunicare via etere, il Ventunesimo è terrorizzato dalla presenza di un Grande Fratello orwelliano che entri un po’ troppo nelle nostre vite, fino a conoscere anche quello che terremmo volentieri chiuso nel nostro vintage e polveroso diario segreto.

C’era una volta OneShar che permetteva di inviare messaggi su Internet in tutta sicurezza e nel pieno rispetto della privacy perché garantiva che fossero cancellati dopo la visualizzazione sul browser, senza lasciare nessuna traccia, a meno che uno, tra mittente o destinatario, avesse voluto volutamente lasciarne memoria ai posteri salvandolo in un file di testo. OneShar era un’ottima invenzione, ma permetteva solo di scambiare messaggi e non di condividere foto o video, tuttavia pur sempre uno strumento valido per tutti coloro che, per i motivi più disparati,volessero mantenere segreti i propri messaggi.

Fu così che in ausilio di OneShar giunse Snapchat, una piattaforma attraverso cui condividere con i propri contatti degli snap, ovvero foto e video. Questo strumento di Istant Messaging consentiva agli utenti di chattare e scambiarsi snap in tutta sicurezza, perché dopo poco essere stati letti venivano cancellati sia dagli smartphone che dal server della chat. Eliminando il piccolo grande difettuccio di Internet di mantenere i contenuti a futura memoria, Snapchat è diventato fin da subito popolarissimo. Nato dall’idea di due ventenni californiani nel 2011, la piattaforma consentiva di creare delle storie, album condivisi, e di chattare in tempo reale sia attraverso un testo che un video. Un altro valore aggiunto di Snapchat era poi la possibilità di personalizzare le immagini, evidenziando delle parti o creando effetti particolari. L’altra caratterizzazione possibile era poi la scelta della durata massima di visualizzazione delle foto che poteva durare massimo 10 secondi e inoltre la decisione di inserire o meno l’audio nel video.

Un altro simpaticissimo strumento di condivisione istantanea era poi Periscope, un’applicazione di Twitter utile per trasmettere in diretta una ripresa fatta con lo smartphone, sia da IPhone che Android e che si preparava a trasformare il modo di approcciarsi ai social network. In appena pochi mesi dalla sua nascita ha scalato la classifica delle prime 100 applicazioni scaricabili nell’App store. Associato al proprio account Twitter, Periscope riconosceva il profilo e gli suggeriva di seguire gli utenti che già lo avevano attivato. Per dare avvio alla diretta era sufficiente premere l’icona della telecamera in basso al centro, inserire un titolo ed attivare la trasmissione. Naturalmente per condividere il proprio video c’era un’apposita opzione che consentiva di inviare automaticamente un tweet ai propri contatti per avvisarli dell’inizio della diretta.

Tutti questi strumenti di messaggistica istantanea in realtà non c’erano una volta, ma ci sono ora, anzi su di loro ricade sempre più la scelta dei giovani nativi digitali: una scelta riflettuta per stare “sempre sul pezzo”e (sembrerebbe) nel rispetto della propria privacy.

Se adesso avete paura di aprire i messaggi sul vostro smartphone, state tranquilli non vi esploderà in mano come accadeva al povero ispettore Gadget, ma fatelo con cautela che non si sa mai..
